About Me & Eastern Sierra 365

Headshot Gigi de Jong

Hi,

I’m Gigi. I love the Eastern Sierra!

Bishop, California has been my home for almost 20-years. I’ve spent countless hours exploring and experiencing the eastside of California. Since 2016 I’ve been fortunate to be part of an amazing team that works to promote Bishop as a tourism destination. We’ve shared many successes and continue to provide engaging and informative content for visitors and locals about Bishop and our big backyard.

As I connect with people through my work one thing has become clear to me; there is no central resource for all events in the entire Eastern Sierra. It’s a big place and there’s a lot going on. Unless you know where to look or you subscribe to tons of email lists, it’s easy to miss out.

Folks often say to me, “Oh, I would have gone to that, if only I’d known.” Or “We’d like to schedule our trips to coincide with more events, but we can’t always find enough information.”

Our local event hosts tell me that it’s often hard to plan events without having good intel on what’s already scheduled. And so conflicts occur (which might have been avoidable) and that doesn’t serve anyone well.

Now … Eastern Sierra 365 is here!

It’s a comprehensive resource for all events that happen in our region, in Inyo and Mono Counties along scenic US Highway 395, and neighboring communities near Death Valley, Yosemite, and in western Nevada.

This site is for everyone!

Whether you live here, visit here, or you’re just passing through.
